We got an early start again and it was off west on Interstate 40 to Barstow then south on Interstate 15 to Interstate 91 south to State Hwy 55 south to State Hwy 73 south to MacArthur Blvd west to the Pacific Coast Hwy south to Laguna Beach.
We were home by 3:00 and Diane and I had fun watching Slinky recognize where she was. She ran into the house looked around and wondered why it took us 5 months to find our home. Slinky is now a very, very happy non-camper.
We unpacked the necessities, aired out the house, found out our refrigerator died and that we forgot to take the battery cables off of the Prius which resulted in a very dead battery, but we were home safe and sound and we enjoyed our trip very much. Odds are we won’t take a 5-month trip anytime soon but we already have tentative plans for a couple of shorter trips.
We walked to town for dinner at Carmelita’s then went over to listen and dance to one of our favorite bands, The Black Tongued Bells. The evening of music was a Dia de los Muertos benefit. We had a great time and were home and in OUR OWN bed by 12:30 am.
It was work doing the blog but it was also fun. Besides keeping you abreast of where we went it also is a diary of sorts for us that we will have forever.
And last but CERTAINLY not least we would like to thank all of our family and friends that so graciously invited us into their homes along the way. It was a pleasure to spend time with all of you and we hope to see you again sometime soon. We also greatly appreciate those that collected our mail and looked after our house while we were away.
Thanks for listening.
Much Love.
Diane, Doug and Slinky
