We woke up to a beautiful blue sky. So we had coffee and rushed off to get to Cadillac mount before the hordes. We reached the parking lot at the summit of Cadillac Mountain about 8:45 and there were still about a dozen or so parking places available which we were hoping for. It was 41 degrees according to the thermometer in the van and the wind was blowing. With the wind chill factor I guess it was mid-30’s.Â
It was fun and very beautiful. There was basically a 360 degree view of the area and beyond. We took many photos.
Then we drove down the mountain and did the Sand Beach Loop again. This time we got a parking place near Sand Beach. We walked down to the beach, took some photos, put my hand in the water and I found a little piece of driftwood to go into my collection.
After Sand Beach we walked on the trail along the ocean and took many more pictures. I’m sure National Geographic is going to buy dozens of my photos.
After completing the loop we came back to the yurt and took showers then headed to the Atlantic Brewing Company to post more stuff on the blog. By the time we finished posting 3 more days on the blog it was time for another great dinner at The Blue Door.
This time we both had the same thing. It started with the Cajun style black bean and corn soup. Then we had their vegetarian mushroom stroganoff. Wowee zowee was that ever delicious. And for dessert this time it was double cinnamon strudel with vanilla ice cream.
I didn’t mention yesterday when I was describing the restaurant that there were shirts, dresses and bags displayed all over the restaurant. The owner bought these items from Global Mamas, the Global Mamas community works together to create a life of prosperity for African women and their families. She bought these products for wholesale prices and then marked them up to retail price and she gives 100% of the profits to Doctors Without Borders, basically helping both groups. I bought a really nice shirt. Another great evening.
Amazing rock formation!

Are you home yet?
