It was a nice day. It had warmed up a bit with no rain in sight and just a few clouds here and there. It was a perfect day to return to Lake Willoughby so that’s where we started the day. We took more photos and then headed to Waterbury and the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. From Lake Willoughby we kept going south on State Hwy 114 to State Hwy 5 south to US Hwy 2 and west to Waterbury. A beautiful drive as each day there are more fall colors and the colors are more vibrant.
We bought our coffee and looked for a place to have lunch and just down the street was the Prohibition Pig Brewery and they had some vegetarian food. The beer was good but as you can imagine a brewery named Prohibition Pig was all about pulled pork but they also had black bean tacos. We ordered the black bean tacos and their signature jalapeno cornbread. Both were fantastic. We bought t-shirts and drove back to the campground on scenic State Hwy 100.
We will be in this area again after our stay in Maine. It is then that we will go to the Alchemist, Rock Art and maybe the Von Trapp breweries. Yes, we will also visit the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory. Arlo Guthrie will be in Stowe, VT on October 10th with his 50th Anniversary of Alice’s Restaurant Tour that we have tickets for. Vermont is a very cool place.
You keep seeing the most fantastic water….hope the ARLO show was good….ONE FANTASTIC CAT!
