Moving day. We packed up and began our drive at about 11:30 am to northwest Vermont and the Tree Corners Family Campground just outside of Irasburg, Vermont and about 10 miles south of the Canadian border. On our way we took a car ferry across Lake Champlain from New York to Vermont.
The weather forecast called for rain so we got our campsite set up as soon as we could. This included our 10’ x10’ E-Z up and the wind/rain siding. Our campsite has electricity and water so we were able to plug in our little heater in the E-Z up which we are calling our living room.
That night we needed both the heater and the siding as a pretty big storm blew through. We have 5 lb. weights on the E-Z up poles and stakes on the wind/rain siding and it was holding up nicely when we went to bed in the tent. Later that night the wind picked up and so did the rain. Both Diane and I were worried that we would find that our E-Z up had blown away when we woke up the next morning but that didn’t happen.
Dear Slinky,
That’s a beautiful photo of Durant Lake! Did your mommy or your daddy take that photo? Looks like you guys are having fun. That’s the right place to be this time of year. Happy Travels!
