We had cocoa and Diane cooked sliced tart apples with honey, cinnamon and maple cheddar cheese for breakfast to warm us up again before another day of sightseeing. This time it was south on State Hwy 30 then west on State Hwy 8. This led us by Indian Lake, Lake Pleasant, Spy Lake and down to Poland and out of the Adirondack Park. Then we took State Hwy 28 northwest to join State Hwy 12 then branch off northeast on Hwy 28 and back into the Adirondack Park.
We stopped in Old Forge at the Fulton Chain Craft Brewery, tasted a couple of their beers and watched a little football. The Fulton Chain is a series of eight lakes. The eight lakes, the chain, is formed by dams along the Moose River. We liked this brewery. Their beers were good and we sat at the bar in large Adirondack style bar stools with backs and armrests.
While we were in the Fulton Chain Craft Brewery Diane found us a nice place for lunner just a little bit out of Old Forge in the woods, Red Dog Tavern. The Red Dog tavern had good food. Don’t tell Slinky because we never mention it.
After lunner we got back to State Hwy 28 and kept driving northeast to State Hwy 30 at Blue Mountain Lake and then a short 4 miles south to our campground. All in all a very fun day with beautiful scenery all around.
