Breakfast with Elena was lots of fun. We reminisced, Elena loves Laguna Beach, and kept her up-to-date on friends, neighbors and Laguna Beach. We learned about her apartment complex where she has made friends with the other tenants. She has adapted to big city life and loves being around her son and family especially her 3 year old grandson.
Breakfast was just under 2 hours and would have been longer but we had to get on the road. Our next stop was Aqualand, Sister Bay, Wisconsin. Sister Bay is almost to the end of the Door Peninsula, Green Bay on the west side of the peninsula and Lake Michigan on the east side.
Our friends Josh and Carol Sweeney and their daughters, Lily and Isa own Aqualand a 150 site RV campground. We arrived at about 4:00 pm and before we knew it, it was 11:30. I have known Josh for most of his life. I was roommates with Josh and his parents for a short while in Morro Bay. Josh was about one year old. Later I drove Josh on the school bus when we lived in Bridgeville. I met Carol, a wonderful lady, here in Sister Bay when they got married 16 years ago. They have made a great life for themselves and their daughters at Aqualand and Sister Bay.
Josh and Carol graciously let us stay behind their house where they just put up a 12’ x 12’ screen house and we had access to electricity and water. We were able to put our tent up next to the screen house. A perfect setup for us.
I’d give my eye teeth for a “non-smoky” day.
I wish there were pics of Josh and his family.
The smokeless and cloudy sky in WI is beautiful and you are always near the water and your photography of your journey is wonderful…hard to believe you have traveled so far…but time gets away…I too hope for photos of Josh and family…what a happy travel companion Slinky is!!
