We got up early because we had 8 hours of driving ahead of us to get to our next campground, Moose Mountain Provincial Park-Fish Creek Campground on the Little Kenosee Lake which is southeast of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The drive was smoky and we basically saw wheat field after wheat field; silos, big and small; and lots of hay rolls.
We stopped in Weyburne to get gas, beer and ice. For those of you who have never been to Canada, you can only buy liquor from a state run liquor store. And the beer election was somewhat small when it comes to local breweries as compared to where else we have been on this trip. But we didn’t go without.
Moose Mountain Provincial Park is a destination for many Albertans. There is something for everyone. Kids can swim, bike, mini golf and there were 2 playgrounds. Adults can do all those activities plus there are
many hiking trails, a nice looking golf course and all the boating/fishing you could desire. Our campsite was somewhat isolated but that didn’t stop correction officers from circling our campsite loop over and over for about an hour. I hid under the van the whole time.
Glad you evaded detection from the screws!
So, did you KNOW immediately, or shortly thereafter, you were in a foreign country after entering Canada?
I’m curious. I know they look a lot like white Americans, and they have diversity there, too.
I just remember the time I crossed from Mexico to Guatemala to get my visa fixed and it was amazing how different Guatemala felt, and was, from Mexico.
