Olzy took us out to breakfast at his favorite spot then it was off to Leavenworth, WA. We drove to Kingston and took the ferry across the Puget Sound to Edmonds. It was a beautiful day and we took a lot of pictures. As the ferry was approaching Edmonds a pod of Orcas was feeding or playing. It was pretty far off but we got a couple of good photos. Seeing a bear and orcas in Washington was pretty lucky.
The drive to Leavenworth was spectacular through the Cascade Mountains. Leavenworth is on the Wenatchee River and the downtown has a Bavarian theme much like Solvang, CA has a Danish theme. Diane booked us in a cabin on the Wenatchee. Beautiful! Thank you Keri and Faun for letting us know about Leavenworth.
A Bavarian themed town meant lots of beer, pretzels and bratwurst. We had some beers at the Blewett Brewery, Blewett has a very tasty IPA, than off to dinner at Yodelin. Yodelin offered Bavarian food but also had a Thai salad and a Thai noodle soup and both were vegetarian and they were good. After dinner we bought some beer and sat on the balcony of our cabin and enjoyed watching the Wenatchee River go by.
