Looking over the map last night Diane suggested our next campground to be Cape Lookout State Park. So off we went this morning. Driving up the coast we passed the 45th parallel where we were exactly half way between the equator and the North Pole. Exciting. When we got to Cape Lookout State Park a camper that had booked a spot for 2 days canceled the 2nd night right before we got there. We moved right in. The campground was full, we got lucky as this campground is popular for family vacations as it is steps from the beach.
The campground was between Cape Lookout to the south and Cape Meares to the north. We walked on the beach in the afternoon, took some pictures, watched baby sand crabs, picked up a little driftwood for kindling and scurried back to our campsite as the tide was quickly rising. It was a great campground pick by Diane. The weather was overcast and sometimes foggy but it was a beautiful spot.
Kitty playpen!! Genius!
Love the pics!
Especially the one of Doug discovering why the ocean is not filled with humans loving being in the water!!
