We left Coldwater Cove Campground this morning. And we want to thank Julie and Don Gray for suggesting that we should visit Clear Lake. We drove west on Hwy 126 toward Eugene and for the most part we followed the McKenzie River all the way into Eugene where it joins the Willamette River. We also crossed over the Blue River right before it joined the McKenzie River. A mellow but pretty drive.
In Eugene I dropped Diane off at the Holiday Laundromat in near downtown while Slinky and I ran some errands. Slinky didn’t think I should be driving without Diane so she gave me an earful the whole time. My first errand was to go pick up our tickets for the Oregon Country Fair. Next was off to Whole Foods for supplies then to the bank and finally the post office. I got back to the Holiday Laundromat just as Diane was folding the last of the laundry. After showing Slinky that we didn’t leave Diane permanently and putting the clean laundry away we headed to McKenzie Brewery for food and a couple of beers.
After lunch we were on our way to Brie and Jeremy Scriber’s house where they had graciously offered us their travel trailer for the weekend. The Oregon Country Fair is held about 1 mile from their place. Brie and Jeremy volunteer every year to help out in the two Child Care sections of the fair so we didn’t see them much the entire weekend. We did however meet Jeremy’s parents, Denise and Randy. Denise and Randy were very gracious as well and we had a good time with them during our stay.
