Slinky was pretty talkative this morning. We don’t know if it was the scenery, the food, the music, the twisy roads or the company that set her off but she was definitely giving us a piece of her mind. I’m pretty sure Slinky was happy to stay in the hotel room that day.
Garberville here we come. Once we were on Hwy 101 it seemed like there was an abnormal amount of lane closures between Leggett and Garberville. Checked into the pet friendly Sherwood Forest Hotel where Slinky could safely stay while we went to the Summer Arts and Music Festival at Benbow Lake. Of course the festival was bigger than we remember and parking now costs $20.00/day. YOWSER! The music was great topped off by Nkulee Dube. It was 85 degrees and after the May Gray/Drizzle we were living through in Laguna, we about melted. And as is always the case at Benbow, shade was a valuable commodity. Beer was cold and good and @ $6.00 a 12 ounce cup the seemed like an OK deal for a festival.
One thing that hasn’t changed at the festival is the attendees. See tomorrow’s post for pictures.
Great campsite!
Looks like your having fun
