An early start. We packed up everything trying to make as little noise as possible and we were on our way to San Francisco to visit our friend Max. We had a good time at the Eshom Campground.
We took an alternate route to “The City”, over the Pacheco Pass to Gilroy then up Hwy 101. In Gilroy, we had to stop at Garlic World. Have you ever had garlic ice cream? Garlic World has it. There we repacked the van as we packed hastily earlier and had a bite to eat, peaches and strawberries not garlic ice cream.
Max lives on Geary just west of Van Ness (Hwy 101) in San Francisco. We had made reservations at the Motel 6 on Geary just east of Van Ness. Most Motel 6’s are pet friendly. We got our room, showered and headed to Max’s place. We left Slinky as Queen of room 216. She definitely likes that role. Max lives on the 23rd floor of a high raise apartment building. His place looks out over south San Francisco including parts of the bay. Beautiful!
Max had some snacks and wine ready when we arrived. Max was a next door neighbor of ours in Laguna Beach for about 3 years and we seemed to get together at least once a week then. We arrived at about 5:00 pm and left after 11:00 pm after catching up and solving all the world’s problems. It was definitely “the same as it ever was.” It’s always a great pleasure to see Max.
We stopped at a pizza joint to get a couple slices of pizza before going to Slinky’s Queendom at Motel 6.
